The Raw Charm Team

Kate Flies with the RAF for
Wings Over Wales

Kate Jones-Davies joined Raw Charm in the autumn of 1990 as a trainee production manager. By the spring of 1993, she managed a production for BBC2, which took the production team on a 16-day journey through Eastern Europe, filming in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. In 1994, she earned her directorial break filming "Finishing School" for Channel 4. Since then, Kate has directed and produced a number of highly successful films and series. Since some of the subject matter that Kate takes on can be of a very sensitive nature, Kate undertook a documentary camera-operating course. This enables her to direct and film in the most difficult of circumstances.

Kate became Managing Director in 2004 and has since Produced/Directed The Weston Front, a series about the West Country Holiday resort, and Weston’s Forgotten Army and Prisoner of War Stories with Simon Weston OBE. The latter two told the stories of British Soldiers in Japan and the Far East during world War Two and with other Raw Charm programmes provided a week of programming during V.J. week on various BBC channels in Wales.

Ian Brown is a recent recruit as Development Producer after a 25 year career in Broadcast Television as Floor Manager Assistant Director and Production Manager He has also worked in the environmental movement and in local politics, as a political researcher, and an External Relations Manager in the Chemical Waste Management field where he produced two films for the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation.

With Raw Charm Media Ian is drawing on this eclectic background to develop our slate of programmes for both television and radio. A particular interest is the growing range of niche broadcasters on Cable and Satellite worldwide.

Harry

Harriet Warren joined Raw Charm in the summer of 2001. 'Harry' oversees all aspects of the production management of Raw Charm's productions. Having successfully completed the BBC Sound Recordists' course, Harry has proved to be able to combine the role of Production Manager and Sound Recordist when on location. This gives Raw Charm Media the option of providing an all-woman crew when the situation requires it.

Having completed The Weston Front, Harry felt the need for a more peaceful time and is spending September to December 2005 on sabbatical, working on a Development Project in an African Village, white water rafting on the Nile and climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro

Pam

Pamela Hunt founded Raw Charm in 1990 and was its chief executive until 2004 when she sold the Company which became Raw Charm Media to current MD Kate Jones-Davies.

She joined the BBC in 1969 as a 'sound effects' operator and rose to become a senior Sound Supervisor in 1980. Between 1980 and 1990, Pam undertook the production of a number of projects in both Radio and Television. Over the years, she produced most of Raw Charm's single documentaries and series, which then focused on contemporary stories. In 1997, she helped the company to diversify into the production of history series. She retired from the Company in 2004 but remains a valued Consultant.

In retirement Pam is planning to drive around the World in an Austin Seven named Miss Daisy!

Simon

Simon Weston OBE first came to national attention after the Falklands War where he was horribly burned on board the bombed Sir Galahad. After his recovery he went on to found The Weston Spirit a Charity offering support and challenges for disadvantaged young people.

Simon has presented a range of documentaries for Raw Charm and as a Consultant brings a wide range of experiences to the Company. Simon is working with us to develop several new programme ideas including a number with non-military backgrounds.
